Reuven Carlyle

Reuven Carlyle is a strategic advisor to Coopersmith Law + Strategy on sustainable energy, climate and environment, electrification of transportation, data privacy and broadband communications.

Reuven served as Chair of the Environment, Energy and Technology Committee in the Washington State Senate. As leader of climate action, Reuven was chief legislative architect of the strongest state-level enforceable commitments to Paris Accord targets and the policy framework to achieve them including: Cap and invest carbon pricing, clean fuel standard, 100% clean energy, building efficiency, electrification of transportation, environmental justice and equity. For the legislation, enacted in 2021, Reuven assembled a broad coalition of industry, environmental justice advocates, NGOs, academics, tribal leaders and others. 

At the COP 26 Climate Change gathering in Glasgow in 2021, Reuven was a representative of the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators where he shared a global vision of sub-national leadership.

Reuven is also a leading authority on data privacy and policy, trying to align technology, innovation, and the public interest.

Previously Reuven served in senior business executive and/or board of director roles for Synapse Product Development, Twisted Pair Solutions, AirSage, V2Green, Xypoint, where he focused on market strategy and revenue growth. 

Reuven is founder of Earth Finance, a climate strategy and finance firm.  He earned his BA in Communications from the University of Massachusetts and MPA from Harvard Kennedy School.
